Which color swimbait do you choose for zander and perch?

The best color swimbait for you to choose depends mainly on the water and the light. Here are a few rules of thumb to get you started.

Clear water and plenty of light

Choose a natural or subtle color. A gray swimbait with fine glitter, such as the  Emerald Haze, works well in these conditions and looks like a small fish.

Murky water or low light

A color can stand out more here. A warm, orange color with a golden sheen, such as the Solar Flare, is more visible to predatory fish.

Twilight and night

Fish calmly inside and take short breaks. Dark or translucent colors, such as the Motoroil in amber and olive brown, create a clear silhouette.

Make your rig suitable

Combine the swimbait with a suitable jig head or swimbait hook and adjust the weight to the depth and current. For pike, a pike-resistant leader is advisable.

Vary your options
